Bariatric Surgery
All referrals for bariatric surgery require Blue Care Network plan approval and, in order for the service to be covered, surgery may only be performed at a Bariatric Center of Excellence. The Bariatric Centers of Excellence program includes a limited network of hospitals that may provide bariatric surgery services to BCN members.
Medicare Note: People who receive health benefits through Medicare may only undergo bariatric surgery at a facility approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. BCN Advantage members must select a CMS-approved facility that is also part of the BCN Advantage network. BCN Advantage members may go to the following hospitals for bariatric surgery.
